Mission of Deeds Gala

Mission of Deeds, a Chamber member and non-profit in Reading that provides beds, gently used furniture and household good to families in need, free of charge, living in Middlesex and Essex counties, is having its Winter Fundraising Gala “A Bed for Every Body.”  Can you imagine sleeping on the floor and then have to get up and go to school or work the next morning?  The purpose of the gala is to raise funds to purchase beds to ensure to each person who needs one, gets one.

The event is on Friday, March 6th at the Hilton/Woburn at 6:30pm.  It should once again be a great evening with a seated dinner, live and silent auctions, music and more.  Last year’s Gala had over 350 in attendance.   Mission of Deeds is looking for sponsorships, donation of auction items and/or dinner attendees.  More information, including sponsorship and registration forms can be found on their website at www.missionofdeeds.org or you may contact Beth Ryan at 781-944-9797.

Join the Reading-North Reading and Wakefield/Lynnfield Chambers for a jointly-sponsored Breakfast and Presentation by US Congressman Seth Moulton on Friday April 3rd at the Sheraton Colonial in Wakefield from 7:30 – 9 AM.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $18 for members, $20 for non-members and a hot breakfast will be served. Women Celebrating Women Event, 5:30 – 9 p.m., at the Hilton located at 2 Forbes Road in Woburn.

Workforce Training and MassBiz Presentation, 5:30 – 7pm at The Career Place, located at 100 Trade Center. Suite G-100. Woburn, MA  01801. Gayle Sommer, Director of Business & Dislocated Worker Services will provide an in-depth look at the variety of programs and resources available to MA businesses through the Commonwealth of MA. There are millions of dollars available annually for employee training through government grants. This exciting presentation is not to be missed, and staff will be available to arrange a follow-up, one on one meetings to assess member needs and provide personalized service for members.
